Ingredients
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 3 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Start by rinsing the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This will remove excess starch and help keep the grains separate.
- In a large pot, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add the rinsed rice and salt, then cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Allow the rice to simmer for about 15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed. Once done, remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a separate pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they become translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add in the mixed vegetables to the pan and continue to sauté for about 5 minutes until they are tender. Season with cumin and turmeric to enhance the flavors.
- Once the vegetables are cooked, gently fluff the rice with a fork and add it to the vegetable mixture. Pour in the soy sauce and mix well until all the ingredients are combined.
- Finally, garnish your Orlah Tamina with freshly chopped cilantro and serve warm. Enjoy this beautiful dish with your family and friends!
This dish is not just food; it’s an experience that brings people together, filled with love and warmth. We hope that you enjoy making and sharing Orlah Tamina as much as we do!
